The ultimate goal for the Romaggi Adobe, once the restoration is complete, is to use it to house the planned Gold Country Family Museum. The Museum will feature a pictorial history of the pioneer families that came to Calaveras County during the gold rush days, and later turned to farming, cattle ranching, wine making or other commercial endeavors. It will also include a genealogical database as well as historical artifacts from their pioneer days in Calaveras County. Many descendents of these families still live in the area today, and will be involved in establishing the museum’s exhibits. “Oral histories” will be gathered from these descendants to help document stories about the original settlers of the area.
